4 Infinity (Figure-Eight) Bubbles with Finger Rings
Moisten your hands well with bubble solution.
Form a ring with your thumb and index finger.
Hold your hand so that the film inside the ring is always perpendicular to the floor.
The third, fourth, and fifth fingers stay slightly pulled back so they don’t interfere with the bubble.
Move your hand smoothly, as if drawing a lying figure eight (the infinity sign).
When you move your hand away from yourself, your palm and fingers face upward.
When you bring your hand back toward yourself, your palm and fingers face downward.
The movement should be smooth and continuous, but at the turning points — where the hand changes direction — make a slightly sharper motion. This quick, precise change helps the film close and form the next bubble.
You can perform this trick with one hand, with both hands alternately, or with both at the same time for a more dynamic visual effect.
If bubbles stop forming, the film has popped. Quickly bring your thumb and index finger together and apart to make a new film, then continue the motion.
Keep the film always perpendicular to the floor — that’s the key to a clean, even bubble.
Combine smooth motion with sharper accents at the ends of each loop — this makes the trick more expressive.
Keep your fingers wet; if the film dries, re-moisten them lightly.
Hands should always stay slightly tilted toward yourself.
Try alternating both hands for a graceful, dance-like effect.
This trick can be done standing still or while spinning. When not spinning, slowly move backward to allow more bubbles to form without popping.
